My research interests are in macroeconomics and international economics, with a focus on open-economy questions and policy evaluation. I conduct quantitative analyses grounded in theoretical models to examine how shocks and policy reforms affect economic outcomes in open economies.
In teaching, I offer courses in macroeconomics, international finance, and the Japanese economy in the Faculty of Liberal Arts, and I teach international economics (with an emphasis on open-economy macroeconomics) in the Graduate Program of Global Studies.
